Career Planning

This presentation takes ideas from strategic and tactical planning and incorporates them into a cohesive idea of how to plan for your career. Attendees will gain tools to help them plan for their future, no matter where it takes them!  

Creative Problem Solving

This module helps attendees understand four main methods used in creative problem solving: Brainstorming, reframing, concept fan, and parallel thinking. Participants will apply these methods to practice creative problem solving.

Building Teams

This module identifies the phases of team development and how understanding them can lead to successful teamwork strategies. Participants will learn to assess desirable traits for team members and how to effectively communicate with the team they are leading. 

Mentoring

This module teaches participants how to create a successful mentoring relationship from both sides. We discuss the SWE leadership pipeline and examples of SWE career paths. Participants learn where their skill sets fit into the SWE leadership model and how to make the best use of their talents.

*Region Celebration is a separate event hosted by SWE Region A. It includes a hosted bar (beer and wine), appetizers, buffet dinner, dessert, celebration & recognition program, and a DJ (and dancing)! Attire is Cocktail. For more information and to register, please click here.
